Programme Manager

Edmund is our Programme Manager. He joined KICS in January 2015 as a volunteer, and since then has risen through different positions to reach his current role today. He has a background in development and is experienced in project planning and management, project coordination, networking, and Monitoring and Evaluation. He holds a MA in Development Studies.

Projects Coordinator

Oliver is our Projects Coordinator at KICS. She has held this position since she started working with KICS in 2013. Her background is in counselling and guidance, and she has experience in community mobilisation, adult literacy training, and psycho-social counselling. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Counselling and Guidance.

Viorah Amutuheire

Projects Officer

Viorah joined KICS in March 2021 as Projects Officer. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (majoring in Accounting) from Mbarara University of Science and Technology. She has experience in administration and accounting from past jobs in a logistics company and working for a member of parliament.

Freelance

Priscilla is our former Projects Officer. She is studying online for a bachelor’s degree in Business administration at Uganda Christian University and plans to major in accounting and finance. She does some freelance work for us, especially around monitoring and evaluation.

Melissa Barrett

Trustee and Chair

Melissa has been the KICS UK Chair of the Board of Trustees since January 2017.  She is an independent consultant working in sustainability and social impact with food, consumer and development sectors.  She has experience working in R&D and holds a PhD in environmental sciences from the University of Adelaide.

Trustee and Director

Fiona has been a KICS trustee since 2015 and took over the role of KICS Director in 2016. She has a background in international development and experience in reproductive health, community development, and fundraising.

Anna McKane

Trustee and Secretary

Anna was formerly a British political correspondent at Reuters and Deputy Features Editor. She taught journalism at City University, becoming Director of Undergraduate Studies in the Journalism Department and a Reader in Journalism.

John Watson

John Watson

Treasurer Trustee

John joined as treasurer and trustee in 2019. He is a Management Consultant with 15 years experience advising financial services institutions and government departments. John has 10 years experience as a governor and treasurer in the UK education sector, and a degree in mathematics from the University of Bath.

Warren Arinaitwe

Trustee

Warren joined us in 2018 as an agricultural adviser and trustee in 2020. He is a food security and rural development specialist with 16 years of experience in various East African farming systems. Warren is studying for a PhD in Plant Sciences at the University of Cambridge as a Cambridge-Africa programme scholar.

Laura Millilo

Laura Millilo

Trustee

Laura joined as trustee in 2020. She has a MSc in Sustainability and Social Innovation from HEC Paris. She is a Strategy Analyst at Accenture UK, tackling large transformation projects in energy. Previously she worked in East and West Africa for four years on livelihoods and private sector development, particularly in Uganda, supporting small and medium sized enterprises.

Volunteer and Secretary to the Board

Anne has been a volunteer with KICS since 2012, and took on the roles of Secretary to the KICS-UK Board of Trustees and Donations Co-ordinator in 2014. She has a background in administration within international organisations.
